Cherry Torte
Cherry Torte is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine (1/4 lb.), 1 1/4 c. flour, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 pkg. vanilla pudding and 1 can sour cherries, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix flour and 2 tablespoons sugar; cut in margarine.
Press into a 9 x 6-inch pan; bake in hot (400Β°) oven until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
Make pudding as directed on package.
When cool, but not set, spread on crust.
Heat cherries.
Add sugar mixed with cornstarch; stir constantly until thickened.
Cool slightly; spread on top of pudding.
Top with whipped cream. Serves 8.
