Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Grease a pie pan.
Stir together cherries, nuts and 1/2 cup sugar.
Pour into greased pie pan.
Mix oil, salt, 1 cup sugar and flour.
Pour this batter on the cherry mixture.
Cook until cake mixture is brown and firm.
