Beat egg whites and cream of tartar.
Add sugar and vanilla; beat until stiff.
Fold in crushed crackers and pecans.
Bake in buttered 9 x 13-inch pan at 325Β° for 25 minutes.
Cool completely. Top with Cool Whip.
Put filling over Cool Whip.
Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
