Cherry Balls
Cherry Balls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 jars of cherries, 1 c oleo, 1/2 c sifted powdered sugar, 2 c sifted flour and 1/2 tsp salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Drain cherries from juice (save juice).
Set aside.
Mix oleo, powdered sugar, flour, salt and vanilla together.
Add enough water to get the mixture the texture of a pie crust.
Make little balls and flatten in hand.
Roll 1/2 of a cherry inside dough. Bake at 350Β° until light brown (approx 10-12 minutes). After they cool, roll into icing mixture (recipe follows) completely covering the balls.
Place on wax paper to dry.
Makes 5 dozen, depending on size.
