Cheesy Onion Pie
Cheesy Onion Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with pastry for 9-inch pie (1 crust), 2 c. grated swiss cheese, 2 tbsp. flour, 2 large onions, thinly sliced and 2 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Prepare pastry.
Chill, but do not bake.
Toss Swiss cheese and flour in pie shell.
Cover with sauteed onion slices and sliced tomatoes.
Sprinkle with basil and oregano.
Cover with remaining cheese.
Beat eggs in small bowl; add the half and half. Pour egg mixture into the pie plate.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
