Cheese Sticks

Sift flour and salt together.
Cut or rub in shortening until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle with water, mixing lightly until dough begins to stick together.
Turn out on a lightly-floured board or pastry cloth.
Press dough together and roll to a 12 x 18-inch rectangle.
Brush with butter; sprinkle with cheese.
Carefully fold 1/3 of the pastry over the center 1/3, then fold remaining 1/3 of pastry over center portion, making a 4 x 18-inch rectangle.
Cut into strips about 3/4-inch wide.
Arrange on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in 400Β° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
