Cheese Rounds
Cheese Rounds is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 stick butter or margarine, 2 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese (1/2 lb.), 1 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt and tabasco or red pepper sauce to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Let butter and cheese stand until soft.
Mix butter, cheese, salt and Tabasco with hands, gradually adding flour.
Divide into three parts and work into long rolls in wax paper.
Chill in refrigerator.
Slice thin; put pecan on top.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 350Β° for about 15 minutes.
Allow to brown slightly.
Makes about 100.
These freeze beautifully and are good for teas and coffees.
