Cheese-Onion Spoonbread
Cheese-Onion Spoonbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 1/2 tsp. butter, 1 egg, beaten and 1/2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cook onion in 1 teaspoon butter until tender.
Combine egg and milk in buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Stir in cornbread mix.
Add onion and half of the cheese.
Sprinkle remaining cheese and poppy seed over the top.
Drizzle melted 2 tablespoons of butter over top.
Bake in 400Β° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Serve hot.
