Together corn meal, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Cheese.
Egg, milk and shortening. Beat with a rotary beater about 1 minute or until smooth.
Do not overbeat.
In a greased 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 375Β° for 30 minutes.
Cut in squares.
Serve hot.
Serves 8.
