Carob Brownies
Carob Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 3 eggs, beaten, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. instant carob and 3/4 c. flour, sifted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs alternately with flour, carob powder and salt, sifted together.
Add vanilla and nuts. Put in greased 8 x 12-inch pan.
