Carmelitas
Carmelitas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. flour, 1 c. quick cooking oats, 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 3/4 c. butter, softened and 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Preheat oven to 350Β°. Grease a 9-inch square pan.
Combine flour, oats, sugar, butter, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl and blend until crumbly.
Reserve half the crumb mixture.
Press remaining half of the crumb mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake 10 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top of crust.
Stir flour into caramel topping and drizzle over the chocolate chip and pecan layer.
Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture and bake 15 minutes.
Cool 1 to 2 hours before cutting.
Store in refrigerator in an airtight container.
