Caramels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 2 1/4 c. packed brown sugar, dash of salt, 1 c. light corn syrup and 1 can sweetened condensed milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Butter a 9-inch square pan; set aside.
Melt butter in 3-quart pan.
Add sugar and salt; stir.
Stir in corn syrup.
Gradually add sweetened condensed milk, stirring constantly.
Use candy thermometer.
Cook and stir over medium heat to 240Β°.
Remove from heat.
Pour into buttered pan; cool and cut.
