Caramels
Caramels is an easy dinner. Made with 6 c. white sugar, 2 sticks oleo, 3 1/3 c. karo syrup, 3 cans evaporated milk and 2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In large pan combine first 4 ingredients but only 1 can milk. Bring to boil for 15 minutes.
Add second can of milk.
Boil 15 minutes.
Add last can of milk.
Use candy thermometer and cook until it reaches 250Β°.
Add vanilla.
Stir and pour into greased pans.
(I use one 9 x 13-inch and one 9 x 9-inch pan.)
Let sit overnight.
Cut and wrap.
