Caramel Rolls
Caramel Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. scalded milk, 1/2 c. shortening, 2 eggs, beaten, 1 tbsp. salt and 1/4 c. lukewarm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Scald milk; add shortening, sugar and salt and cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Let set 5 minutes; add to milk mixture and add 3 cups flour.
Beat until smooth.
Add eggs and stir well, then add remaining flour to make a soft dough; knead until smooth.
Place in greased bowl.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
Shape like jelly roll.
Cut for caramel rolls.
Bake at 350Β° until brown.
Shape in balls; roll out and spread with butter.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
