Caramel Popcorn
Caramel Popcorn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 qt. popped popcorn, 1 c. firmly packed light or dark brown sugar, 1/2 c. margarine, 1/2 c. karo syrup (light or dark) and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Place popcorn in large shallow roasting pan.
In heavy 1 1/2 to 2-quart saucepan, stir in sugar, margarine and corn syrup. Stirring constantly, bring to boil over medium heat.
Without stirring, boil 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
Pour over popcorn, stirring to coat well.
Bake in a 250Β° oven, stirring every 15 minutes, 1 hour.
Remove from oven. Spoon popcorn onto large pieces of foil.
Break apart as popcorn cools.
Makes about 3 quarts.
