Caramel Popcorn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 to 6 qt. popped corn, 2 sticks oleo, 2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. white karo syrup and 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

In heavy saucepan, bring to a boil the oleo, sugar and Karo syrup.

Boil for 5 to 6 minutes.

Remove from heat; add the soda and vanilla.

Mixture will foam up.

In large pan, pour mixture over popped corn.

One cup pecans or peanuts can be added, if you wish.

Stir until kernels of corn are well coated.

Bake 1 hour at 250Β°.

Stir every 15 minutes.

Pour on newspaper to cool.

Store in a tight jar.
