Caramel Popcorn
Caramel Popcorn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 qt. popcorn, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 1 c. dark brown sugar, 1/4 c. light corn syrup and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Remove old maids from popcorn and keep warm in a 250° oven while syrup is cooking.
Combine butter, brown sugar, salt and corn syrup.
Bring to boil and cook 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and soda.
Pour syrup over popcorn and nuts. Stir mixture gently to mix.
Then separate out and pour on 2 large baking sheets and place in oven at 250° for 1 hour.
Stir every 15 minutes.
Store in airtight containers.
