Caramel Icing
Caramel Icing is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. light brown sugar, 1 1/2 tbsp. flour, 5 tbsp. sweet milk, 2 tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. white karo syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix all ingredients well in heavy 2-quart saucepan.
Cook without stirring until a rolling boil.
Remove from heat.
Stir and test in ice water for very soft ball.
Cool to lukewarm by placing saucepan in ice cold water.
When cool, beat.
Mixture will lose shine and get a little thick.
May seem a little thin, but begin to frost cake, the icing will harden quickly.
Place frosted cake in airtight cake box.
