Bring butter, brown sugar, salt and syrup to a boil; cook about 5 minutes over medium heat.
Remove from stove.
Stir in vanilla and soda.
Stir until foamy.
Pour over popped corn.
Put in greased pan and bake at 250Β° for one hour in oven, then remove, then break up while hot.
