Caramel Candy Bars
Caramel Candy Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels, 1/3 c. milk, 2 c. all-purpose flour, 2 c. oats and 1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Heat caramels and milk in 2-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth; remove from heat and reserve.
Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt in large bowl.
Stir in egg and margarine with fork until mixture is crumbly.
Press half of the crumbly mixture in ungreased rectangular pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch).
Bake 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts.
Drizzle with caramel mixture. Sprinkle remaining crumbly mixture over top.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool 30 minutes.
Loosen edges from sides of pan.
Cool completely.
Yields 48 bars.
