Caramel Bars
Caramel Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels, 1 1/2 sticks melted margarine, 1 c. chopped nuts, 1 box german chocolate cake mix and 1/3 c. evaporated milk (for caramel mixture), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Melt caramels and evaporated milk and set aside.
Mix cake mix, margarine, evaporated milk and nuts.
Press half of mixture in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 6 minutes. Take from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
Pour on melted caramels.
Crumble the other half of dough mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes.
