Caramel Apples
Caramel Apples is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 sticks butter, 2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar, 1 c. light corn syrup, 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk and 1 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Melt the butter in heavy saucepan.
Stir in the brown sugar, syrup and milk.
Mix well.
Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Cook to firm ball stage (245Β°), stirring frequently.
(Takes about 15 to 20 minutes.)
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Put a wooden stick in each apple core and dip in mixture. Place on waxed paper to allow caramel to set.
Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
