Canadian War Cake
Canadian War Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. dark brown sugar, 4 tbsp. crisco, 2 sticks butter or margarine, 1 tsp. all spice and dash of salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Mix sugar, crisco, butter, spices, salt, raisins and boil 5 minutes.
Let cool.
Add 4 c. sifted flour.
Add a heaping tsp. of soda dissolved in 2 Tbsp. warm water.
Bake at 375Β° until toothpick comes out clean.
About 30-45 minutes.
