Cake from Scratch
Cake From Scratch is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 to 1 1/2 c. butter, 2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla and 3 c. self-rising flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cream the butter until smooth.
Add sugar, again creaming until smooth.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each egg.
Add vanilla.
Add flour, one cup at a time.
Add 1/2 milk after adding 1 cup flour, mixing well after each addition.
Add last 1/2 cup milk after adding second cup of flour.
Add third cup of flour and mix well.
Pour into a 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan.
This will also make three 9-inch layers.
I use Baker's Joy spray to grease pans.
