Cabbage Casserole
Cabbage Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 small head cabbage, cut up and cooked 5 minutes in scant water, 1 can cream of celery soup, 1 c. milk, 1/2 c. mayonnaise and 2 c. corn flakes (i use more), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Heat together celery soup, milk and mayonnaise, but do not boil.
Mix cabbage and soup mixture.
Blend together corn flakes and margarine.
Layer bottom of casserole with 1/2 of corn flake mixture.
Pour cabbage mixture into casserole.
Put rest of corn flake mixture on top and top with 2 cups grated cheese.
I make two casseroles out of this, one for freezing.
