Cream butter with sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
Mix soda with buttermilk.
Add to mixture; beat well. Sift flour 3 times before measuring, then add salt.
Add in small amounts at a time.

Bake at 325Β° for 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured tube pan.
