Buttercream Icing
Buttercream Icing is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening, 1/2 c. margarine or butter, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 4 c. (1 lb.) sifted confectioners sugar and 2 tbsp. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

In large mixing bowl, cream shortening and margarine or butter with electric mixer.
Add vanilla.
With mixer on medium speed, gradually add sugar.
When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.
Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy (usually takes additional milk).
