Butter Pastry is an easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. sifted flour, 3/4 tsp. salt, 14 tbsp. (1 3/4 sticks) butter, chilled and cut into pieces and 1/3 c. ice water or as needed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
Cut butter into the flour with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
Sprinkle on the ice water a little at a time, blending it quickly into the dough by gathering up the mixture, working it lightly with your fingers, then squeezing it together.
