Cream butter and sugar.
Stir in vanilla.
Stir in flour and salt.
Roll out 1/4 of dough at a time, rolling to 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes and lift to baking sheet with spatula.
Place cookies 1 inch apart.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 10 minutes or to light brown.
Remove from cookie sheet.
Cool, frost and decorate.
