Bubbly Squeak
Bubbly Squeak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. sausage (kielbasa), 4 to 5 medium potatoes, large onion, 1/2 head cabbage and salt to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Slice potatoes into skillet; sprinkle with salt.
Slice onion over potatoes.
Slice sausage in bite size pieces; add to skillet. Shred cabbage on top and cover.
Add salt to cabbage to taste. Simmer until cabbage is done; do not stir.
When dish starts bubbling and squeaking, it's cooking just right.
A little water may be added 5 minutes before serving to loosen the potatoes from the pan.
Serves 4 to 6 people.
