Brownies
Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. cocoa, 2/3 c. shortening plus 1/4 c., 2 c. sugar, 4 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
In large saucepan, melt cocoa and shortening
Remove from heat.
Blend in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Mix in remaining ingredients.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from the pan.
Do not overbake. Cool slightly; cut into bars.
Makes 32.
