Brown Sauce
Brown Sauce is an easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp butter or drippings, 1/2 slice onion, 2 tbsp flour, 1 c beef stock or dissolve one bouillon cube in 1 c water and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Heat butter in small, heavy skillet over low heat until browned. add onion and saute until light brown.
Stir in flour until well blended.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until flour is a deep mahogany brown.
Remove from heat, Gradually stir in stock.
Bring to a boil stirring constantly.
Stir in seasonings.
