Combine 1/4 cup butter and cracker crumbs into a 9-inch pie pan.
Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter. Place in crumb shell. Top beaten the milk and the salt. Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
