Breakfast Chunkies
Breakfast Chunkies is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. whole wheat flour, 1/4 c. toasted sesame seed, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. coarsely chopped dry roasted unsalted peanuts and 1/2 c. chopped dates, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Stir the flour, oatmeal, sesame seed, wheat germ, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl until blended.
Add the peanuts, walnuts, raisins, dates and sunflower seeds; stir to coat.
Beat the oil, maple syrup, egg and banana together.
Fold into the dry ingredients until blended.
Drop by rounded 1/4 cupfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake until bottoms are golden, 15 to 18 minutes.
Makes about 20 cookies.
