Bread and Butter Pickles
Bread And Butter Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 25 to 30 cucumbers, 8 medium white onions, 2 large, sweet bell peppers, 1/2 c. salt and 5 c. cider vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cut cucumbers, onions and peppers in large dishpan, etc.
Add salt and cover with lots of ice.
Let stand for 3 hours, stirring occasionally so salt will be distributed evenly through cucumbers. In another large pot, combine vinegar, sugar and other spices. Bring to a boil.
Drain cucumbers and add them to the vinegar mixture.
Heat thoroughly but do not boil.
Pack in jars and seal at once.
