Boston Brown Bread

Mix the dry ingredients.
Stir in the liquids and mix well. Grease a mold*.
Fill not more than 2/3 full.
Put on the cover. Place on a rack in a deep kettle.
Add boiling water to come halfway up around the mold.
Cover.
Steam 3 to 3 1/2 hours, keeping water boiling.
Add more water as necessary.
Run a knife around the inside of the mold to loosen the loaf to remove it.
