Boiled Cake
Boiled Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 2 c. sugar, 2 c. cold water, 3 c. raisins and 4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Boil shortening, sugar, cold water and raisins for 10 minutes. Cool thoroughly.
Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt.
Add to cooled mixture.
Mix thoroughly.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Use a cake tester for doneness. Bake in a well-greased and floured tube pan.
One cup chopped nuts may be added.
