Blueberry Cake

Beat egg whites.
Add 1/4 cup sugar.
Cream shortening and add salt and vanilla.
Add rest of sugar, then egg yolks.
Sift flour and baking powder.
Add to creamed mixture and 1/3 cup milk. Fold in egg whites and blueberries (dusted with flour).
Sprinkle sugar over batter in 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 minutes.
