Blackberry Cake
Blackberry Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 18 minutes. Made with c. shortening, c. sugar, eggs, c. blackberries (fresh or canned; if canned, drain juice from them) and c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Set aside.
Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs, blackberries and buttermilk mixture, mix well.
Add flour mixture and blend well.
Put in loaf or round cake pans.
Bake until tests done with a toothpick (approximately 60 minutes).
