Blackberry Buckle
Blackberry Buckle is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. flour, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Sift together 1 cup flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In mixer bowl beat together 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and beat until smooth.
Combine milk and vanilla in separate container.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the beaten mixture.
Pour into a greased and floured 1 1/2-quart oval baking dish.
Spoon berries evenly over batter. Combine 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in 3 tablespoons butter until crumbly.
Sprinkle over berries. Bake in 375Β° oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
You may substitute other berries or fruit.
