Bishop Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 4 oz. german sweet chocolate and 2 c. pecans, finely chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cut chocolate into small pieces.
Add chocolate, nuts, dates and cherries to flour mixture.
Beat eggs with mixer until foamy.
Add sugar gradually, beating until eggs are thick and light.
Add flour mixture; mix well.
Turn mixture into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 1/2 hours.
Cool and slice.
