Beef 'n' Beans
Beef 'N' Beans is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 2 c. diced carrots, 1 c. diced green pepper, 1/2 c. diced yellow onion and 2 cloves garlic, minced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Brown the ground beef, crumbling it; then drain off grease.
Set aside.
Saute the carrots, peppers, onions and garlic in 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a deep 12-inch skillet over moderate heat until slightly softened (about 6 minutes).
Add the beef, celery seed, pepper and salt and stir. Next add the tomato sauce, molasses, and Dijon mustard.
Mix and bring to a simmer.
Then stir in the baked beans.
Spoon into an 11 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish or 2 1/2-quart casserole.
Sprinkle with bread crumbs or crackers and bake, uncovered for 35 to 45 minutes.
