Adjust oven rack to lowest position.

Preheat oven to 350Β°. In food processor with steel blade, combine flour, salt and Crisco; pulse about 6 seconds, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add milk and process until dough forms a ball.

Continue processing 2 minutes.

On floured surface, roll dough into rectangle 1/4-inch thick.

Fold dough in half, pressing lightly. With a 1 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, cut out dough and place on cookie sheet.

Re-roll scraps and repeat, cutting more biscuits. Prick each biscuit with a fork.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes, until pale golden.

Turn off oven, leave biscuits in oven for 35 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
