Beans and Bacon
Beans And Bacon is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. half runner green beans (frozen or canned may be substituted), 4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces and cooked crisp, 1/3 c. finely chopped onion, 2 tbsp. vinegar and 2 tbsp. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Wash, string and break beans.
Cook 15 to 20 minutes in water until tender.
Meanwhile, fry bacon until crisp.
Add onion, vinegar, water, sugar, salt, m.s.g. and pepper to bacon and drippings in skillet.
Bring to a boil.
Drain cooked beans.
Pour bacon mixture over beans and toss lightly together.
Yield
4 servings.
