Basic Whole Wheat Bread
Basic Whole Wheat Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 tbsp. dry yeast, 2 1/2 c. warm water, 1 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. honey and 6 to 8 c. whole wheat flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Dissolve yeast in 2 cups water.
Mix in salt, 1 tablespoon honey and 4 cups whole wheat flour until smooth.
Keep warm until light and bubbly, about 45 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup hot water, oil, 1 tablespoon honey and remaining flour.
Knead for 10 minutes.
Keep covered in a warm place until double in size, about 1 hour.
Punch down and form 2 loaves.
Let raise in nonstick loaf pans until double in size.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
Cool and slice. Makes 2 loaves.
