Basic Sweet Rolls
Basic Sweet Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. quick dry yeast, 1 c. lukewarm water, 1 c. milk, scalded and cooled, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 2/3 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine the yeast and water and let it stand for a few minutes.
Cream the butter, sugar and salt.
Add the beaten eggs and juice from the half lemon.
Add the milk to the softened yeast and combine with 3 cups flour, beating until smooth.
Then mix this into the creamed mixture, adding enough more flour to make a medium dough.
Knead the dough on a floured board until smooth. Raise until doubled in a greased, covered bowl.
Shape as desired. Let rise again.
After cooling, frost with icing, if desired.
