Basic Sweet Dough
Basic Sweet Dough is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 to 7 c. bread flour, 1/2 c. sugar, 2 tsp. salt, 2 pkg. active dry yeast and 1 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
In large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast; blend well.
In small saucepan, heat water, milk and margarine until very warm (120° to 130°).
Add warm liquid and egg to flour mixture.
Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
By hand, stir in 3 to 4 cups of flour until dough pulls cleanly away from sides of bowl.
