Basic Chili
Basic Chili is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 lb. lean ground beef, 2 garlic cloves, crushed, 1 tsp. oregano, 2 (15 oz.) cans tomatoes and 3 to 5 tbsp. chili powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

In a 4 to 5-quart Dutch oven, brown beef.
Add onions and garlic; cook until onions are transparent.
Add herbs, salt, tomatoes, tomato sauce and chili powder.
Simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Blend flour and water and add to mixture. Stir well and cook 20 minutes.
Add beans.
Add cayenne pepper if hot chili is desired.
Cook 10 minutes.
Serves 6 to 8.
