Barbecued Venison is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 slices bacon, 1 lb. venison, cut in 1-inch cubes, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 1/2 c. catsup and 1/4 c. red wine vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving drippings.

Crumble bacon and set aside.

Cook venison and onion in drippings until meat is browned.

Drain and set aside.

In saucepan, combine catsup, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, 1/2 cup water, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.

Stir in venison, onion and bacon.

Cover and cook until venison is tender, 45 to 55 minutes.

Serve on rice.

Serves 4.
