Barbecue Venison

Barbecue Venison is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 slices bacon, 1 lb. venison, cut into cubes, 1/2 c. onion, 1/2 c. catsup and 1/4 c. red wine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserve drippings.

Crumble bacon and set aside.

Cook venison and onion in drippings until browned.

In saucepan, combine ketchup, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, 1/2 cup water, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.

Stir in venison and onion.

Cover and simmer until venison is tender, about 45 to 55 minutes.

This also can be made in crock-pot.

Serve over rice or on a sandwich.
